Revit Standards

Time to put together an Manual that will explain how this Revit Structure works and how to keep it moving forward. Right now I am starting very basic. Here is a outline of how I am thinking of documenting what we have and where it is.

1. Purpose
2. Scope
3. Background Discussion
4. Abbreviations
5. Responsibilities
6. Procedures

These 6 categorizes I start with every time when crating a Manuel of any kind. This is just a 1st go at this so I am keeping it as a draft.

First thing I will go over is where things are on the network. Explaining how things are structured and why they are there.

Next I will go over each one of the Categories and go into detail a little more of how and what to save there. This will be the fun one since there are like a million Families out there and we need to make sure to keep them under some kind of naming convention that everyone can follow.

Last will be some other sections that are very important and should be in some type of structure.

Templates
Layering Scripts
Schedules
Shared Parameters
And whatever else I might have missed.

This is just an idea right now so I am not too worried about how this goes. Once I have everything written down then I will start massaging everything and making sense of it all.
